Instruction
At the heart of the parcours of reconnection presented in Busan under the collective name Art-Werk x (re)connecting.earth is the concept of the “instruction.” First developed in Geneva and Berlin during the inaugural Biennial, these short, poetic visuals and phrases by international artists—sometimes seen as user manuals or creative protocols—invite us to rethink our daily relationship with the living world.
Evolving through each edition of the Biennial, the concept took new form in Kiel and, at the Sea Art Festival 2025 in Busan, became a path through a “nature reserve” with three new instructions, including two by local artists. Translated into Korean, they fostered a dialogue between language, landscape, and artistic practice.
Beside each instruction, the art-werk educational team proposed possible actions to encourage care for the planet, inviting visitors to engage both environmentally and artistically.
