Ongoing Artistic Dialogues

Long-term collaborations

The festival echoed and expanded conversations first initiated through (re)connecting.earth, whether during the Biennial in Geneva or through its nomadic exhibitions. Some of the participating artists — such as Marie Griesmar, Uriel Orlow, Diana Lelonek, and Raul Walch — were able to further develop research they had begun earlier. Their invitation to create new works in Busan offered an opportunity to continue these exchanges and to express their creativity, questions, and perspectives in a different geographical and cultural context.

Among the works presented, Marie Griesmar’s Phytocene offered an underwater encounter with ceramic forms inspired by phytoplankton, while Uriel Orlow’s Reveries of Collective Walkers combined performance and sound, inviting participants to read aloud to plants along an eco-trail. Raul Walch’s bamboo pavilion and kite-making workshops transformed visitors into active participants, emphasizing the importance of shared creative experience. In addition, eleven instruction-based works from previous editions of (re)connecting.earth were presented alongside three new contributions produced by the Busan Biennial.
